Tens and Ones

Differentiation Activity

This can be player with partners or a group up to 4.  Each student will get a hundreds chart.  Students take turns drawing a card and rolling a standard dice.  The standard dice tells how many ones or tens they will mark on their hundreds chart.  If they roll 4 tens, they can place a counter on any number with 4 tens.  If they roll 5 ones, they can place their counter on any number with 5 ones.  The first student to get four in a row, is the winner.

Differentiation Activity/Fundamentals Game

Students can play the game Groups of Ten either on their computer or with the printable game.

Students draw a card from each stack of cards.  They will add those tens together and place a counter that matches on the gameboard.  When all the squares are filled, the student with the most counters on the board is the winner.
